    Get PDF
Web 2.0 has been in the foray for a while playing an important role in threading business processes, various departments, systems and key stakeholders (within firms) to activate customer participation and involvement. In order to re-emphasize customer centricity, firms have been using SCRM (Social Customer Relationship Management) approach as a part of their CRM (Customer Relationship Management) strategy. The activities under SCRM are a major source for organizational knowledge creation that occurs due to a continuous dialogue between tacit and explicit knowledge. Also, various social platforms (operating for SCRM) where collaboration takes place acts as a shared context for knowledge creation. To comprehend the actions and limitations of a knowledge-creating firm thoroughly, this research paper examines the process of knowledge-creation by (1) revisiting Nonaka-Takeuchi SECI (Socialization, Externalization, Combination & Internalization) process to recognize how SCRM activities can be prolific in organizational knowledge creation (2) exploring positive disruptions created by integrating SCRM activities with four modes of SECI process for additional knowledge creation (3) analyzing case studies of four firms from consumer products sector that use SCRM approach and (4) discovering the elements under SCRM approach that satisfy ‘BA’ as a shared context

Dynamic Selection of Symmetric Key Cryptographic Algorithms for Securing Data Based on Various Parameters

Most of the information is in the form of electronic data. A lot of electronic data exchanged takes place through computer applications. Therefore information exchange through these applications needs to be secure. Different cryptographic algorithms are usually used to address these security concerns. However, along with security there are other factors that need to be considered for practical implementation of different cryptographic algorithms like implementation cost and performance. This paper provides comparative analysis of time taken for encryption by seven symmetric key cryptographic algorithms (AES, DES, Triple DES, RC2, Skipjack, Blowfish and RC4) with variation of parameters like different data types, data density, data size and key sizes.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, Fifth International Conference on Communications Security & Information Assurance (CSIA 2014) May 24~25, 2014, Delhi, Indi

Pengaruh Bubuk Daun Kenikir (Cosmos Caudatus) Terhadap Kadar Malondialdehyde Plasma Tikus Wistar Diabetes Diinduksi Streptozotocin

Latar Belakang: Komplikasi vaskular diabetes terjadi akibat meningkatnya pembentukan radikal bebas sehingga menyebabkan stress oksidatif.

Synchronization in a network of model neurons

We study the spatiotemporal dynamics of a network of coupled chaotic maps modelling neuronal activity, under variation of coupling strength ε and degree of randomness in coupling p. We find that at high coupling strengths (ε > εfixed) the unstable saddle point solution of the local chaotic maps gets stabilized. The range of coupling where this spatiotemporal fixed point gains stability is unchanged in the presence of randomness in the connections, namely εfixed is invariant under changes in p. As coupling gets weaker (ε < εfixed), the spatiotemporal fixed point loses stability, and one obtains chaos. In this regime, when the coupling connections are completely regular (p=0), the network becomes spatiotemporally chaotic. Interestingly however, in the presence of random links (p > 0) one obtains spatial synchronization in the network. We find that this range of synchronized chaos increases exponentially with the fraction of random links in the network. Further, in the space of fixed coupling strengths, the synchronization transition occurs at a finite value of p, a scenario quite distinct from the many examples of synchronization transitions at p→0. Further we show that the synchronization here is robust in the presence of parametric noise, namely in a network of nonidentical neuronal maps. Finally we check the generality of our observations in networks of neurons displaying both spiking and bursting dynamics

Examining the impacts of economic and demographic aspects on the ecological footprint in South and Southeast Asian countries

The reexamination of the existing economic and environmental policies in the South and Southeast Asian countries seems to be necessary, as these countries are struggling to achieve the goals of sustainable development. For suggesting a long-term environmental policy, we intend to examine whether the selected economic and demographic indicators have influenced the ecological footprint in the eight developing countries of Asia for the period of 1990-2015. The use of pooled mean group (PMG) approach allowed driving the long-run common coefficients, which may facilitate us to develop a common policy framework to fortify the environmental quality. The computed results confirmed that the selected variable are cointegrated in the long run; and, per capita income, nonrenewable energy usage, urbanization, fertility rate, and population density are observed as the significant drivers of the environmental pollution. On the other hand, renewable energy consumption restored the environmental quality in these countries. Based on the results, we recommend the need for the diversification of the energy-basket where the use of renewable energy resources to be enhanced. Further, by sensitizing the necessity of environmental conservation, governments should promote less carbon-intense economic and demographic practices across the industries and sectors

Do economic endeavors complement sustainability goals in the emerging economies of South and Southeast Asia?

The consistent performance on the economic front and alarmingly increasing air pollution in the eight emerging economies of South and Southeast Asia compelled us to scrutinize whether the association between per capita income and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions remained nonlinear during the study period (1990-2015). Further, we intended to examine the long-run impacts of financial development, trade expansion, and nonrenewable energy consumption on CO2 emissions. Considering the possibility of the cross-sectional dependency, we employed a relatively new approach, i.e. the cross-sectional augmented distributed lag mean estimation. The simulation results of the study confirmed an N-shaped environmental Kuznets curve in the selected emerging economies. Further, the improvements in the financial sector, nonrenewable energy consumption, and trade expansion contributed to increasing the level of CO2 emissions in the long run. Based on the outcomes, we proposed the policy framework, which may help in achieving Sustainable Development Goals
